Foreteam ("we," "our," or "us") is building a golf partner-matching service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you join our waitlist through this website, how we use it, and your rights over it.
Foreteam is in closed beta and rolling out country by country. Right now this website does one thing: it lets you join the waitlist so we can tell you when matching opens near you. This policy covers the waitlist only. When the app opens to you, we'll provide a fuller privacy policy covering the app before you create an account.

1. What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — which you provide so we can notify you when Foreteam opens near you and send you closed-beta updates.
- Approximate country — we derive an approximate country from your network (IP) address at the moment you sign up. We use it, in aggregate, to plan which regions and courses to open next and to segment our beta emails by country. We do not store your full IP address against your waitlist entry, and we do not derive your precise location.
- Your course (optional) — after you join, you can tell us which golf course you play, by selecting from our list or typing it in. It's optional and you can skip it. We use it to gauge demand and decide where to open matching first.
We also record the date you joined and that the signup came from this website, so we can manage the waitlist.
Server logs
Like most websites, our systems keep short-lived technical logs that include the IP address of requests. We use these only to rate-limit signups and protect the service against abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest in security. These logs are separate from your waitlist entry.
What we do not collect here
- No passwords — the waitlist doesn't create an account.
- No payment information — joining is free.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking identifiers, and no analytics or advertising cookies on this page. We count page views with Umami, analytics software running on our own server: no cookies, no personal data, nothing shared with anyone.
- No precise location — we don't track your GPS or device location. The course you optionally enter is the only place-related detail you provide.
2. How we use it
We use your waitlist information only to:
- Tell you when it's ready — email you when matching opens at or near you.
- Send closed-beta updates — occasional progress updates about the launch. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Decide where to launch next — use the approximate country derived at signup, and the course you optionally share, in aggregate, to prioritise which regions and courses to open.
Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist and can withdraw at any time (see Your rights). We will never sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
3. Storage & security
- Your waitlist details are stored in our database within the EU.
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS / TLS).
- The database is not publicly accessible — only our application can connect to it.
- Access to production systems is restricted to authorised people.
We keep your waitlist email until matching opens for you and you either create an account or ask us to remove you — or until we've clearly stopped the project. You can ask us to delete your waitlist entry at any time (see below). EU users are protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Polish law; wherever you are, your data is handled with the same care.
4. How we share it
We don't share your waitlist information with other users, and we don't sell it. We rely on a small number of service providers who process it only to help us run the waitlist:
- Cloud hosting (EU) — where your waitlist details are stored.
- Cloudflare — operates as a network and security proxy in front of our website; it processes the requests that reach us, including your signup, to deliver and protect the site.
- Email delivery provider (EU) — sends our waitlist and beta emails.
Each processes your data only as needed to provide its service. If the law requires it (for example a valid court order), we may disclose information, and will notify you where we're legally permitted to.
5. Your rights
Wherever you're located, you have rights over your personal data (EU users under GDPR; others under applicable local law):
- Withdraw consent / unsubscribe — use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us, to leave the waitlist at any time.
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct your email address.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your waitlist entry.
- Data portability — request your data in a common, machine-readable format.
- Object / restrict — object to or ask us to pause our use of your data.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days. EU users who are unhappy with our response can lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (UODO) or their local EU supervisory authority.
One note on unsubscribing. When you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a small internal "do-not-contact" suppression list so that we never email you again. This list exists purely to honour your opt-out; it isn't used for any other purpose and is not removed by an erasure request, since removing it would let future emails through.
6. Children's privacy
The Foreteam waitlist is not intended for anyone under 18, and Foreteam is an adults' service. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we'll delete the entry promptly.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product develops — in particular, we'll publish a fuller policy covering the app before it opens to you. When we make changes we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, email waitlist members. Continued use of the waitlist after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
